Hello,
My name is Don Perreault Jr., and I am the owner and creator behind DP Design. In the fall of 2001, I moved to Boston to attend the New England School of Photography, where I studied Portraiture and Digital Imaging from 2001 to 2003. The following spring, I returned to Maine and entered retail management, where work demands gradually took most of my time. After years of trying to find a photography position that fit my schedule, I eventually accepted that my photography had taken a backseat.
In 2017, I began working part time at a local printing company as a second job. Soon after, I left my other position and joined the printing company full time. After a very long hiatus, I decided to return to photography in 2018 with a much different approach, shooting for myself and for the pure enjoyment of it. Astrophotography is what truly reignited my love for the craft. Watching Milky Way images come together through image stacking opened my eyes to an entirely new world. Long nights beneath the stars bring me a deep sense of peace, making the world feel still and wonderfully small. I also enjoy wildlife and macro photography.
A few years later, I returned to school to study graphic design, and I am still continuing that journey today. I have found myself especially drawn to geometric patterns, textures, and black-and-white line work. At the moment, I am also working on a Maine and New England themed Tarot deck. More recently, I have been taking a web production class and learning how to build websites, which is how this site became a project in itself. As my coding skills grow, I know the site will only continue to improve. I also recently accepted a promotion to Production Manager at the printing company.
So go easy on me, I'm an old dog learning new tricks and loving it!
